As a teacher, union loeader, and grassroots organizer, Rose has delivered real wins - from protecting immigrants to expanding tenant rights and advocating for good paying jobs. She shows what's possible when working people organize independently and lead with courage.
A lifelong educator, Rose understands that Willimantic’s diversity is its greatest strength and the key to helping our community thrive. Rose has fought to defend our public schools and help working families through her work as an NAACP member and as a vice president of our local American Federation of Teachers. Rose raised her daughter, Ava, in Willimantic. They live on Summit Street and are members of the Willimantic Food Co-Op.

I have been a resident of Windham for more than 25 years. I have been active and engaged in local issues and have served on the Economic Development Commission (including more that six years as chair) and on the Downtown Advisory Committee.
Professionally, I have more that 30 years experience in the financial industry having worked for major financial institutions including Aetna, MassMutual, and the accounting and auditing firm Coopers & Lybrand as well as serving clients through my consulting practice.
I am the author of multiple books on finance, housing, and entrepreneurship and have taught finance, economics, leadership, and nonprofit management to graduate students at Goodwin University, Albertus Magnus College and Bay Path University. I earned a Ph.D. in International Development from the University of Southern Mississippi and an MBA in finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

As a candidate for the Board of Education, I am committed to fostering an education system that prioritizes environmental sustainability, teacher retention, and equal access to quality instruction for all of our kids. With a background in teaching and public health, I bring a unique perspective on how schools can better support both academic and overall well-being. Together, we can create a system that’s sustainable and supportive of all students & teachers.

Dagmar was elected to the Zoning Board of Appeals, 2 year term, and served for most of 2024 but had to resign after accepting a job that precluded service in this role.
In the 2023 election, our modest little town was responsible for 6 Green wins in out of 15 in the entire USA! That's incredible. We in Windham are special. Let's keep it that way!
